Following on from our previous post about International day for persons with disabilities, we asked another member of DAC staff to tell us about her experiences with a hidden disability. Hidden disabilities cover a wide range of factors, from mental illness, to chronic pain and anxiety. These are just a couple of examples, and of course many such factors can either be constant, or present themselves without warning, meaning that a person can literally have good or bad days.
Its worth remembering at this point that a disability is determined as something which affects an individual on a long-term basis, which affects their ability to carry out daily tasks easily.
