Certification

To achieve certification each website undergoes a manual technical compliance review against WCAG 2.2 to level AA.

The website underwent both a technical compliance audit and robust end to end testing by users with a wide range of disabilities including blind, low vision, dyslexia, colour blindness, mobility impairments, learning difficulties, Deaf, Asperger and anxiety and panic disorder.

All testing is carried out in line with relevant platform specific guidelines, and where applicable, conforms with The Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018. Testing also conforms to Section 508 of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)

List of issues

Nationwide are aware of the following accessibility issues within their editable combobox components:

Pointer cancellation within editable comboboxes: When interacting with the options in an editable combobox, users are currently unable to cancel a pointer action once it has been initiated. This may affect users who rely on precise pointer control or who need to dismiss an interaction without making a selection.

Colour contrast in error states: When an editable combobox is in an error state, the options adopt a red background. On mouse hover, the text displayed against this background does not meet the minimum colour contrast ratio required to satisfy WCAG 2.2 AA standards, which may impact users with visual impairments.

Nationwide are actively reviewing these issues and plan to address them in a future update.
