Certification
To achieve certification each Native Mobile Application undergoes a manual technical compliance review against WCAG 2.2 to level AA.
The app underwent both a technical compliance audit and robust end to end testing by users with a wide range of disabilities including blind, low vision, dyslexia, colour blindness, mobility impairments, learning difficulties, Deaf, Asperger and anxiety and panic disorder.
All testing is carried out in line with relevant platform specific guidelines, and where applicable, conforms with The Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018. Testing also conforms to Section 508 of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
Technical limitations
After clarification of the technical issues involved by the client, the following issues are considered to be 'essential' to the delivery of the service.DAC_Orientation_01
- WCAG Reference: 1.3.4 Orientation (Level AA)
- Notes: Content restricts its view and operation to portrait orientation because a specific display orientation is essential for the identity-verification SDK to function correctly. The software performs facial capture and liveness detection using camera calibration, framing, and alignment guidance that are designed and validated exclusively for portrait orientation. Supporting alternative orientations would materially impair the verification process and prevent it from operating as intended. This restriction therefore meets the WCAG 2.2 Success Criterion 1.3.4 exception for cases where a specific display orientation is essential. The issue has been left in the body of the report for reference only.
