No single accessibility project is the same.
We work closely with you to understand your requirements and propose the best route forward for you.
You may be at the end of your project and need testing and accreditation, or you may be looking at how to incorporate accessibility right at the scoping stage. Whatever your requirement we will work with you to ensure your digital media are accessible.
Our areas of expertise:
Mobile testing – Our expert knowledge of accessible mobile technology allows us to offer you the best advice on mobile platforms, technologies and website development.
User testing – The DAC user testing team test in line with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines v2.0, and 2.1 to ensure maximum ease of use for people with visual impairments, dyslexia, mobility impairments and learning disabilities.
Training and consultancy – we offer bespoke training in accessibility best practice and techniques for your employees. This training can be held at your offices, or in Neath. Our consultancy services are built around your requirements. We can offer full consultancy from start to finish on a project, or provide help at the stage you need it.
We can also carry out ‘accessibility surgeries’ on a regular basis at your office – a very cost effective method of engaging employees with the accessibility agenda. Developers are able to book time with a consultant and have their build reviewed at regular intervals, ensuring accessibility is considered at all stages of development, and little or no time wasted retro-fitting.
Assistive technology training sessions for QA Testers and Developers
Digital Accessibility Centre (DAC) are providing Assistive Technology training courses to take place at our Neath Offices. This training is intended to complement our existing offering of training with the added benefit of seeing our staff do what they do best in our test environment.
What will you get?
You will be taken through practical demonstrations with some tasks, to help you understand how the technology can be used during a test. You will gain a good understanding of how to get the best out of your assistive technology, and some top tips to get you started. Our training can be tailored so we give you exactly what you need, in a friendly yet professional setting. That’s not all, you will also be given some handouts to use as a guide once our training is complete, so you don’t feel thrown in at the deep end.
We can accommodate up to 8 people per session, all we ask is that participants have laptops/mobile devices with a headset, particularly for usage of screen reading software training. We can provide additional information about this prior to your arrival.
Issue resolution – Whether you have issue with your assistive technology or have a problem with developing an accessible solution, we can help you.
Design and development – we help you at each stage of your web product lifecycle. From helping with tender requirements and choosing the best organisations to design and develop your web product, through to wireframe reviews and audit and accreditation, our services are designed to give you confidence that your web product is as accessible to as wide an audience as possible, regardless of ability.
Audit and accreditation – our trusted audits test your products in line with the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2 (WCAG 2.0, and 2.1) – the government recommended standard. We have 2 accreditation levels available - Accessible AA (government recommended compliance level) or Gold AAa (almost AAA standard, reflecting the views of DAC testing team).
